Name of your website?Toronto Psychotherapist - Kimberly Moffit
Your name?
Kimberly Moffit
Your Location (city, etc)
Toronto
Please give us a short summary of your website?
My website offers a support for people dealing with psychological issues, and introduces existential psychotherapy as a potential medium. It introduces a little bit about myself, and what type of psychotherapy I practice.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I launched the website to help grow and promote my private psychotherapy practice.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was a Yahoo designed website, but I'm currently having it re-designed by a team of professionals.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I decided on the name www.kimberlymoffit.com because it is my name: simple and easy to remember.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I try to provide up-to-date information on all my services. I include all things, including fees (which most therapists don't do). I want customers to know that I'm upfront and they can find all information on my page.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I would like to keep my website as a complement to my private practice.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far, my website has brought many referrals. Without it, I probably would not be a successful private practitioner.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would gain top SEO rankings which I don't currently have. It's very hard to get into the top Google page while searching.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, I would likely have a waiting list for new customers, or add new therapists to my team.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Not being ranked very high on Google - this has forced me to search out new weblinks on my own, trying to compete with people who have been doing this all along. I am not a web-person, but I'm trying very hard to understand it for the sake of my business!
What has been your biggest challenge?
MY biggest challenge has been competing with websites that have been there for years - other therapists and therapy directories.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Google Adwords
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I didn't expect it would take so much time - I spend a couple hours a day maintaining and promoting it!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
IT has been in-business for about 3 months, and I will continue running it as long as I'm a private practitioner.
