online therapy clinic Interview

By Interviewer at 12/11/08 11:45

Name of your website?

online therapy clinic

Your name?

kim nygaard

Your Location (city, etc)

crystal lake

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Online therapy clinic offers traditional therapy by professional counselors via email, phone, webcam, and IM

What inspired you to launch your own website?

So many people are seeking help, but dont know where to go. Today's average person is lacking time(flexibility with work, family schedule, etc). The use of the internet is continuing to increase. Many areas are lacking resources. Many people are homebound or cannot be face to face due to anxiety, depression or shame. Online therapy is a great solution to these problems. In addition, it is an area that is continuing to grow in the field.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

6/1/08

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It is exactly what the site was designed to be, an online therapy clinic.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

It is more affordably priced. Short term goals are to add webinars for professionals. Long term goals are to go worldwide and have bilingual therapists (spanish, polish and russian).

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I would love to do this full time.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I am currently able to accept all clients. I have 3 therapists that have signed on.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would increase marketing, (web and land). I would give presentations to the community (professionals and community memebers)

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, I have resources available to never have to turn away a client.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Trying to find funding for a start up of a business. I was actually taken for a loan scam.

What has been your biggest challenge?

see above

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I write articles for ehow (member name klnygaard), it has helped promote my site, while I have had the opportunity to write (which I also love).

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I did not realize how difficult it is to promote the site. It is moving quite a bit slower than I had anticiapted.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I have the ability to continue to maintain the site for 1 year, if I am unable to drive a significant amount of traffic,

Why do I want this site to be successful?

I am fortunate to love what I do. I am looking for a way to use my ability and desire to provide therapy in a way that provides a good income and more flexibility with my family. It has always amazed me that I can counsel parents on how to be a better parent or manage time, yet my schedule often keeps me away from my children and family more than I want.

What is your website address?
