Who Are You?
The CrossRoads Training Institute is the PCTIA Registered career training division of the CrossRoads Counselling Group and has been devoted to career training in the alternative medical/behavioural health field since 1999, in order to help people in their personal and professional development . All of the training is designed to expand the participants' awareness of themselves in their everyday personal as well as professional lives.
When it comes to career training, our goal is to provided our communities with competently trained skilled professionals, who can help others to reach their goals to live healthier lives - reaching the fullest extent of their capabilities.
We are very proud of the fact that the quality of our programmes of instruction exceed the acceptable standards of our industry and that we are recognised for that high standard of professional training - we are, what others claim to be.
What Are Your Credentials?
The CrossRoads Training Institute and/or its instructors are accredited by the Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists (ARCH Canada), the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA USA), the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT USA), as a training institution and instructors are registered members with the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH USA). We are also registered with the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia (PCTIA Provincial Government) as a Private Post-Secondary Career Training Institution in BC and certified by the Minister of Human Resources Development Canada (Federal Government). The CrossRoads Training Institute is also a proud member of both the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC Canada) and the BC Career Colleges Association (BCCCA British Columbia) and abides by their Code of Ethics. Our training meets and exceeds the clinical standards established by Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists (ARCH Canada) and surpasses the standards established by the National Guild of Hypnotists, International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association and International Association of Counselors & Therapists (USA).
What Type Of Training Do You Provide?
The primary focus is Wholistic Healing, Integrative Body/Mind/Spirit Therapies. The techniques our students are trained in (depending on the programme of study) cover a broad spectrum of approaches, including Gestalt and Reichian body approaches, Acupressure, Energy Therapy, IBP, Role Playing, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Family of Origin Therapy.
In the study of clinical hypnosis the classic work of Elman, Erickson, Barnett, Tebbetts and Kappas are examined - in the present, the modern work of Yapko, Hogan, Kroger and Adams. This includes their methods of Hypnoanalysis, Visualisation Techniques, Stress Reduction and Pain Management. In all areas of study the techniques founded on the Skilled Helper Principle for client-therapist communication skill development is also included.
How Does The Clinical Hypnotherapy Programme Work?
The Clinical Hypnotherapy training programme is divided into three levels: Professional Hypnotist (Basic), Master of Hypnosis (Advanced) and Master of Clinical Hypnotherapy (Certification). You will learn by both academic and practical hands-on approaches to hypnosis. The objective is to provide the foundation necessary for competency in the Art of Hypnotherapy. You will learn techniques that are "client-centred" through a teaching method that is "student-centred". The training is diversified, looking at the methods of Elman, Tebbetts, Erickson, Yapko and Kappas - to name a few of the outstanding leaders in classic & modern hypnosis. The CRTI Programme is certified as "Clinical Hypnotherapy Training" by the Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists of Canada.
