New Zealand Directory that lists Hypnotherapists nation wide so people can find one easily.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I needed promotion and I thought it would work better in the long run if I promoted others as well.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
1996 http://www.eco-pal.co.nz for a guy selling biodegradeable plastic bags.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I wanted it to be country wide and to advertise hypnotherapy clinics. SEO considerations played a part as well.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
It is well made and attractive. The design can be attributed to a dreamweaver template I downloaded.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To get people finding me, who need a hypnotherapist.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Like an uneven see saw. Hopefully one day one of my ideas will work. Sometimes in the helping others field money doesnt flow like water. If I was in it for the money I would have finished helping others a long time ago. I guess I do it for the joy of seeing others relief, and joy of overcoming problems and issues that have plagued them their whole lives.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I could pay a marketing expert to develop an effective plan to market my services. Money could be budgeted into the marketingplan.People can't utilise me if they don't even know about me. I would eventually expand an open a alternative therapies clinic.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. My partner is also a certified hypnotherapist and a friend in the next town is a certified hypnotherapist who could help us as well.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Lack of capital to advertise effectively. We have an office ready to go, but we havent got a lot of money to advertise.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Trying to design the website, run it, set up the office, market and get customers as well as work full time to keep cash coming in.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
SEO
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Even though it ranks highly on specific keyword searches lack of customers has been discouraging. Perhaps I need to alter my strategy.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
3 months- The hosting only costs $4.00 a month so I can run it for years. I make all the changes so labour cost to do that is non existant.
Do you believe in yourself and what you are doing?
That would be the only reason why I keep trying so hard. Belief in helping people and what I am trying to acheive.
